Welcome Families!

I am excited to share with you another exciting learning project for Room 60.

We are embarking on a new literature theme to build student literacy skills in reading, writing and communication. The unit is called 'Learning From Our Elders.' The essential concepts we will be exploring are:

  • The wisdom of elders helps us understand ourselves and others.
  • Memories help us tie the important moments of our lives together.
  • Even the youngest child has something valuable to offer elders.

This website contains information on a fun and important
family activity your child is being asked to complete. The "memory box" will be used in a special grand pals project in which your child learns about an elderly person in our community. It also contains resources for further exploration in the subject for books reaching out to elders.

Of course, I would love to hear from you if you have any questions, suggestions or ideas about how to enhance your child's learning.
